The following describes what we need to do to complete Sub Culture. Continue to tune and balance remainder of missions concentrating on: - incorporating definite end points on success or failure of the mission - the information/feedback mechanism to ensure the player gets the appropriate response from the game Tidy up the save function (at present you can't save in the middle of a mission) Complete the assets: - include voice over for FMV intro - include full and final in game sound fx Incorporate improved explosion fx Incorporate foreign language assets. Overview of Sub-Culture ------------------------------- Sub Culture is centred around the underwater world of a bunch of 'little guys' divided into two antagonistic cultures: the Prochas and Bohine. Humankind has created a polluted hell, pumping toxic waste into the waterways, choking and mutating this underwater civilisation. Your goal is to bring peace to these two warring cultures and to save this water world from imminent destruction. Sub-Culture is a game which revolves around missions although there are always freeform activities and trading to do. In Sub Culture you can explore a breathtaking underwater world which is continuously changing and no matter what missions are taking place the environment continues to live. You must trade to gain money, which in turn provides a means to purchase inventory items. Different missions are available from each city and from the Prochas and the Bohines: which ones you do affect how you stand with each culture. The missions are accompanied by a highly detailed and engaging narrative. The missions are numerous and varied: in one mission you must accompany diplomats on a peace mission warding off attacks from pirates; in another you must get a SWAT team onto a sub hijacked by terrorists as they go through a minefield; in all of them you must use your skill and judgement so allowing you to progress to the core mission and the next stage in the adventure.. As well as affecting your standing, successful completion of a mission provides financial reward. Once docked at a city, you can engage in a trading sequence although prices and availability of tools and weapons differ between races and cities, so you will need to be astute in your quest for the best tools at the best price. The Sub-Culture world is full of neat features like: - real time night and day as the sun passes overhead - a plethora of lights and flares available to the player - strange and aggressive mutant creatures - weird and wonderful tools and weapons such as a ROV (Remotely Operated Vehicle) and a bubble gun - physically accurate dynamic modelling of the craft and creatures - varied 3D seascape which includes an abyss, cave complexes and pipe networks - stunning aquatic life roaming the seas - atmospheric 3D sound effects and original music - the detritus of human life litter the seabed: from discarded cigarette packets to old bottle tops you will see how the humans are destroying your world Getting Started ------------------- You can dock at any of the cities in the underwater world. At these cities you can choose missions, trade tools and weapons and check out the latest news and gossip about this entrancing underwater world. You start the game just outside the city of Touka Reef - you can dock here or seek out another city, it's up to you. Outside of the mission structure you can prospect for ore, metal and pearls which will fetch good money when taken to the refinery.
