Sound Blaster Does Not Work After Installing A Modem Blaster 19.2 Voice

Problem:

After installing a Modem Blaster 19.2 Voice modem, the Sound Blaster card no longer functions or the modem does not work.

Solution:

Sound Blaster cards and the Modem Blaster have the same default IRQ setting. The user is recommended to leave the Sound Blaster at its default IRQ setting of 5.

Then make one of the following changes to the Modem Blaster:

Change the COM port and the IRQ settings on the Modem Blaster. The modem defaults to COM 3 and IRQ 5. Other setting options are as follows:

    COM Port      Standard IRQ   Alternative IRQ    Switch 1  Switch 2
    COM 1              4               5              Off       Off
    COM 2              3               9              On        Off
    COM 3(default)     4               5              Off       On
    COM 4              3               9              On        On

Change the Sound Blaster IRQ setting. The user has the option of IRQ 2, 5, 7 and 10.
