NetWare 386 v4.0x Server Driver Installation
============================================
This section describes the procedure to install
the adapter's server driver for NetWare 386 v4.0x.

Requirements
------------
* Accton Driver Diskette
* Novell NetWare 386 v3.11 System Diskette

Installation Procedure
----------------------
Before you start the software driver installation
process, make sure that your adapter is properly
installed in the host PC, and properly configure
to the right settings.

1. Insert the Accton Driver Diskette in your floppy drive
   (either A: or B:).
2. Check the contents of the subdirectory \NETWARE\ODI\4.0x.
   It should contain the ACVL.LAN driver file and
   ACCVL.LDI information file.

3. Copy the contents of the Novell NetWare 386 v4.0x System
   Diskette into the NetWare 386 subdirectory of
   your server station's hard disk.
4. Copy the ACCVL.LAN file from the Accton Driver Diskette
   into the NetWare 386 subdirectory in your server's
   hard disk.

5. Run SERVER.EXE on the server station. Several NetWare
   messages will be shown onscreen.
6. At the NetWare prompt (indicated by a colon), load the
   driver program by typing the following command and
   pressing <Enter>:

   :LOAD [d:]ACCVL    <Enter>

7. Follow screen instructions to select the appropriate
   adapter configuration, such as io_port, memory
   address and interrupt.

   Allowable values or selection list for these parameters
   will be shown onscreen. A sample screen display prompting
   you for information after you try to load your driver
   is as follows:

   Loading module ACCVL.LAN
   Supported I/O port values are: 300, 320, 340, 360
   I/O port: 300
   (Enter the appropriate I/O port and press Enter)

8. Bind IPX with the Accton LAN driver (ACCVL.LAN).
   At the NetWare prompt, type the following:

   :BIND IPX ACCVL	<Enter>

9. After pressing <Enter> the computer will prompt you
    for the Network Number. This number is assigned
    when your server was installed. Please consult
    your NetWare 386 Installation Manual for more
    information.
10. If problems occur during the binding process,
    error messages will be shown onscreen to prompt
    your about it.
11. You may want to run the CONFIG program to check
    if the binding operation is successful.

NetWare 386 v3.1x and v4.0x Workstation Driver
Installation
==============================================
This section describes the procedure to install the adapter's
workstation driver for NetWare 386 v3.1x and v4.0x.

Requirements
------------
* Accton Driver Diskette
* Novell DOS ODI Workstation Services diskette or
  appropriate NOS installed in the workstation

Installation Procedure
----------------------
Before you start with the software driver installation
process, make sure that your adapter is properly installed
in the host PC, and configured to the appropriate settings.

1. The \NETWARE\ODI\DOSODI subdirectory of your Driver
   Diskette should contain the NWMLID.COM file. This file
   is your workstation driver.
2. Copy the NWMLID.COM file into your NetWare 386 v3.1x or
   v4.0 subdirectory.
3. Copy the contents of the Novell DOS ODI Workstation Services
   diskette into the corresponding NetWare 386 subdirectory.
4. Run your software driver. Type the following commands
   in the sequence give below:

   For NetWare 386 v3.1x
   ---------------------
   lsl		<Enter>
   nwmlid	<Enter>
   ipxodi	<Enter>
   netx 	<Enter>

   For NetWare 386 v4.0x
   ---------------------
   lsl		<Enter>
   nwmlid	<Enter>
   ipxodi	<Enter>
   vlm		<Enter>
5. This complete the driver installation process. If problems
   are detected during this process, error messages will be
   shown onscreen.

Important Note about NET.CFG File
---------------------------------
See Appendix E of your NetWare 386 Installation Manual
for more information about the NET.CFG file.

1. The NET.CFG is a configuration file. If your PC has more
than one adapter installed, make sure that the NET.CFG file
has an MLID section. Sample NET.CFG file is given below:

LINK DRIVER NWMLID
  INT	5
  PORT	320
   :
   :

2. The ODI driver always parses the NET.CFG file first.
It reads and recognizes parameter settings in this file as the
preferred setting. If it conflicts with the adapter's store
setting in the EEPROM, the adapter will fail to initialize.

Notes about NetWare v4.0x
-------------------------
The default Ethernet frame type for NetWare v4.0x is 802.2.
The default frame type for the DOS ODI driver is Ethernet 802.2
when there is no protocol binding in the NET.CFG file.

Remember to bind the Ethernet 802.2 frame type before
logging into the network.

Error Messages
==============
This section list available error messages.

NetWare v4.0x Server Driver Installation
========================================
This section describes the procedure to install
the adapter's server driver for NetWare 386 v4.0x.

Requirements
------------
* Accton Driver Diskette
* Novell NetWare v4.0x System Diskette
  or CD ROM version

Installation Procedure
----------------------
Before you start the software driver installation
process, make sure that your adapter is properly
installed in the host PC, and properly configure
to the right settings.

1. Insert the Driver Diskette into drive A and
   check the contents of the \NETWARE\ODI\4.00
   subdirectory. It should contain the following
   files:
   ACCVL.LAN -------> Novell NetWAre v4.0x Server Driver
   ACCVL.LDI -------> Novell NetWare v4.0x Server Driver
		      Installation Information file

2. At the NetWare prompt, run INSTALL.NLM by typing:

   server name: LOAD INSTALL <Enter>

3. Select "Maintenance/Selective Install" and press <Enter>.
4. Select "LAN Driver Options (Configure/Load/...)" and
   press <Enter>.
5. Press the <Ins> key and specify other drives to be installed
6. Press <F3> and indicate the driver loading
   path and press <Enter>.
   For example, A:\NETWARE\ODI\4.00
7. The ACCVL.LAN will appear in your choice list. Select
   this item from "Select a LAN Driver" field. Choosing
   ACCVL.LAN will start the driver loading and binding
   procedure. You will then load and bind all 4 frame
   types supported by NetWare.
8. The next time you reboot your NetWare 4.0 server,
   just follow steps 2 to 4 to complete the installation.

Installation Notes
------------------
1. The architecture of NetWare V4.0x is different from that of
v3.1x. For v4.0x, you should load the MSM.NLM and ETHERTSM.NLM
modules separately before loading ACCVL.LAN.

When loading ACCVL.LAN, it will check whether or not
these two modules have been loaded. If not, it will load
them automatically. So after ACCVL.LAN	is loaded, typing the
"MODULES" command from the prompt will display the two extra
modules loaded, namely, MSM.NLM and ETHERTSM.NLM.

2. The default frame type ACCVL.LAN binding is Ethernet_802.2
and not Ethernet_802.3. This differentiates the NetWare v3.1x and
v4.0x drivers.

The ACCVL.LAN will support the NetWare v3.1x environment also.
But you must load LSLENH.NLM, PATCHMAN.NLM, MSM31X.NLM AND
ETHERTSM.NLM before loading it.
