
        D-Link DFE-530TX PCI Fast Ethernet Adapter Installation
                           for Windows 95

 Getting Started
 ---------------

    The Windows 95 installation disks or CD are need to complete this
    install.


    Windows 95 OSR2 Installation Procedure
    ----------------------------------------

     1. Plug PCI Ethernet adapter into the system.

     2. Start your PC normally.  Upon power up, the system will
        indicate to you that new hardware has been found.

     3. Insert the driver diskette into floppy disk.

     4. The system detect the necessary driver will being
        install for the new hardware.

     5. After finishing file copying, the Windows system will ask
        you to restart the system.  Select YES to reboot.

     6. During system boot up, the operating system will automatically
        detect the PCI Fast Ethernet adapter and install the driver for
        the adapter.



    Windows 95 Installation Procedure
    ---------------------------------

     1. Plug PCI Ethernet adapter into the system.

     2. Start your PC normally.  Upon power up, the system will
        indicate to you that new hardware has been found.

     3. In the "New Hardware Found" winodw, choose
        "Driver from disk provided by hardware manufacturer" item.
        Then click on "OK" button.

     4. Insert release driver diskette into the floppy disk drive.

     5. In the "Install From Disk" window, specify the path of the driver.

       Example:
                A:\

       Then click on the "OK" button.

     6. After finishing file copying, the Windows system will ask
        you to restart the system.  Select YES to reboot.

     7. During system boot up, the operating system will automatically
        detect the PCI Fast Ethernet adapter and install the driver for
        the adapter.


 Trouble Shooting
 ----------------

    1. Everything is OK in Device Manager, but network adapter still
       does't function properly. Please make sure that your Computer
       name is different from others in the same network.  You can change
       your Computer name in

       "My Computer" -> "Control Panel" -> "Network" -> "Identification"
       icons

    2. Everything appears to be OK but network adapter still doesn't
       function properly. Please make sure that the adapter is properly
       connected to a network device (ex: HUB) and the "connection type"
       for this adapter is set to "Auto-Negotiation" or the correct
       media type. You can check it in

       "My Computer" -> "Control Panel" -> "Network" -> "Properties"
       icons. Select "Advanced" item.

 Driver keywords:
 ----------------
      Open "My Computer" -> "Control Pannel" -> "Network" ->
      Double click "D-Link DFE-530TX ...", Select "Advanced" item.

      Click on the "Connection Type" property selection.

      The "Value" windows will show the following selections:

      AutoSense             :The driver will auto-detect the best
                             media mode.(default)
      100Base-TX            :The driver will force the media to
                             100Base-Tx half duplex mode.
      100Base-TX Full Duplex:The driver will force the media to
                             100Base-Tx full duplex mode.
      10Base-T(Twisted Pair):The driver will force the media to
                             10Base-T half duplex mode.
      10Base-T Full_Duplex  :The driver will force the media to
                             10Base-T full duplex mode.

      Choose the appropriate setting as needed.


